
Kathmandu, November 30: Former Prime Minister and Unified Socialist Party’s senior leader Jhalanath Khanal left for China today. Party Foreign Department Secretary Dr Shankar Khatiwada is also accompanied by Khanal.
Khanal is scheduled to hold meetings with high-level Chinese leaders in Beijing on December 1 during his week-long visit to attend the eighth series of Understanding China Conference-2024 at the invitation of China, according to party Foreign Department Secretary Dr Shankar Khatiwada.
After concluding the high-level political meeting in Beijing, Leader Khanal is scheduled to go to Guangzhou to participate in a program jointly organized by the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs and Guangzhou Provincial People’s Government.
Leader Khanal will address the second plenary session of the Understanding China Conference being held in Guangzhou as the keynote speaker. The theme of the plenary session is ‘Meaning, Possibilities and Opportunities to Deepen China’s Comprehensive Reforms’. The conference will have extensive discussions on seven thematic issues. Khanal is scheduled to return to Nepal on December 7 after wrapping up his week-long visit.
