By Dr Rajendra Bahadur Shrestha
Nepal is already a failed state by all international accounts.
With the changing world order, the global trend in international relations/cooperation among nations is changing from one of dependency to inter-dependency in a win-win for all with mutual respect. If Nepal cannot navigate its international/bilateral relations to become self-reliant and effective in securing national interest it cannot exist as an independent, sovereign nation in the world community.
It is now or never a situation for Nepal to change course and correct the present corrupt system and political leadership as soon as possible. People at large are beginning to revolt for positive change. The time is ripe and conducive for all Nepal-loving real nationalists (professionals, youths, most adversely affected by financial institutions, government bureaucracy, SMEs, and likeminded political party cadres and true friends of Nepal at home and abroad.) to come together and revolt peacefully to achieve progress and happiness of all Nepali.
I appeal to everyone to join/participate in the revolt started on Mangsir 7 (November 22) peacefully and in an organized and civilized manner. Nepal can be built by Nepalese only.
Shrestha is former Chair of the Nepal Council of World Affairs
