
Kathmandu, November 24: Speaker Devraj Ghimire, who is on a five-day visit to Cambodia, has started parliamentary meetings. According to Speaker Ghimire’s Secretariat, Speaker Ghimire had a courtesy meeting with the Speaker of the Cambodian lower house National Assembly on Saturday evening.
In the meeting, bilateral interests, progress of Nepal’s peace process, parliamentary exchange and other issues were discussed. Speaker Ghimire met with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Rathasapithikathipadei Khuun Sudari, on Saturday. In the meeting, the Speaker thanked for organizing and inviting to the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.
Speaker Ghimire said in the meeting that an inclusive and progressive structure has been built along with Nepal’s peace process. “The Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Nepal in 2006 has made a significant contribution to bringing stability as well as creating an inclusive and progressive structure with federalism from the Constituent Assembly”, said the Speaker.
The Cambodian parliament gave a ‘guard of honor’ to the Speaker. She expressed her happiness for the success achieved in Nepal’s peace process and the recent endorsement of the transitional justice law by the parliament.
