
Kathmandu, November 24: Nepali farmers in Inarwa are suffering from imports of vegetables from India.
Local farmers have failed to compete with cheap vegetables imported from India. Nepali farmers don’t get fertilizers, and there is a scarcity of labor as well. Even though local farmers have invested in vegetable farming, they have failed to get a proper price for their investment.
Indian vegetables are being sold at cheap prices, thus, the Nepali farmers don’t get the price of their products, and farmers have complaints.
Indian farmers get different subsidies from the local government, therefore, they can grow vegetables at low prices.
