Kathmandu, November 24: Construction of three hydropower projects started in Rasuwa under the flagship of Chilime Hydropower, a subsidiary of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), has been completed. After the completion of three hydropower projects, 168 MW of national transmission power has been integrated into the national transmission system by connecting it to the 220-132-33 KV substation built by the authority at Thambuchet of Amachhodingmo rural municipality of Rasuwa.
The 14.8 MW Upper Sanjen, 42.5 MW Sanjen and 111 MW Rasuwagadhi hydropower projects have been connected to the national transmission line. Of this, Upper Sanjen was completed in September last year and has sold electricity worth Rs 300 million so far.

The construction of the 42.5 MW Sanjen Hydropower Project has been completed and the power generation has started on a trial basis on the national transmission line from Friday. The 111 MW Rasuwagadhi Hydropower Project has been completed and is currently generating electricity on a trial basis. Commercial power generation of Sanjen and Rasuwagadhi will start after the successful test production and fulfilment of the prescribed criteria.
Four projects of 270 MW each have been started under the supervision of Chilime Hydropower Company, out of which three projects have been completed except the 102 MW Madhyabhotekoshi is under construction in Sindhupalchowk.
Kulman Ghising, managing director of NEA, said that the completion of the projects under Chilime, which have become dilapidated due to various reasons, is a great achievement.
