Kathmandu, November 22: At a time when the international flights operating airlines have inclined airfares, the nation’s flag carrier, Nepal Airlines (NA), has announced discounts on international airfare following directives from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.
NAC Spokesperson Ramesh Paudel informed the decision to provide reduced fares on international destinations.
According to a press release issued by the Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), passengers traveling to Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore will receive discounts of up to Rs 2,500.
Similarly, a discount of up to Rs 5,000 will be available for flights to Doha, Dubai, Dammam, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Narita.
After the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) shut down the TIA for ten hours a day, all the airlines operating international flights hiked the airfares for different international destinations.
Tourism Minister Badri Pandey had earlier instructed international airlines operating flights from Nepal to submit their updated fare rates within 24 hours, aiming to regulate and stabilize airfares. NAC’s decision aligns with the ministry’s efforts to address public concerns and make air travel more affordable.
