Kathmandu, November 12: Kamal Thapa, Chairman, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-Nepal), alleged that as soon as the investigation began in the corruption case, the major political parties stood together and tried to protect the corrupts.
He said the constitution should be amended to have a strong body empowered to investigate irregularities and corruption committed by ministers.
The Commission for Investigation on Abuse of Authority (CIAA) should be empowered and should act independently.
Chairman Thapa also said that the arrangement for adjustment of the king to the Maoists will be suitable for Nepal. He said this while addressing the party's Tarai-Madhes National Conference in Birgunj on Sunday.
Thapa said that his party is carrying forward the agenda of re-establishing Hindu Rashtra and monarchy. The country is now facing serious crisis, said Thapa and added that to address the major issue of Tarai/Madhes upliftment, the country should be freed from the corrupt system and corrupt rulers.
He said that the flawed concept and structure adopted for the last 18 years should be corrected. The initiative should be taken to establish a fundamental democracy of Nepali culture that can absorb all political forces and ideas, Thapa remarked.
