Kathmandu, November 12: Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi is paying a visit to Nepal at the invitation of Chief of Army Staff General Ashok Raj Sigdel.
The Indian Army Chief is arriving on November 20, according to reports. General Dwivedi was appointed the Army Chief of India on June 30 this year.
According to the tradition, General Dwivedi will be conferred the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army by President Ramchandra Paudel at a special function at the President’s Office.
Nepal and India have adopted a tradition for seven decades of conferring the honorary title on each other’s army chief.
