Kathmandu, November 10: UML has suspended Lila Ballav Adhikari from all party positions on the allegation of being involved in human trafficking. Adhikari, minister for internal affairs and law of the Koshi Province, had tendered resignation from the minister and other responsibilities assigned to him from the party.

Adhikari is alleged to have visited Japan along with a group of Nepali nationals by producing fake documents. Adhikari and other Nepalis in his team were deported to Kathmandu by the Japanese immigration officials after 48 hours in detention at the immigration after they landed in Japan.

On Saturday, UML’s Koshi Provincial Committee suspended Adhikari from all the party responsibilities.

Adhikari was elected the Provincial Assembly member from Morang-2 (B).
