Kathmandu, November 10: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the government's actions have become sensitive to the question of national independence. Speaking at a press conference at Bajrabarahi in Makwanpur today, he accused those in the government of trying to bargain for national independence to save the chair.
He said that it has come to light that Nepal has given consent in principle to the US government for the State Partnership Program (SPP), which is a matter of serious concern.
"It has been reported in the American media that the current Prime Minister has already approved in principle to the SPP, the American government has officially said it. This is a matter of serious concern, " Dahal said.
Dahal stressed the need to reform the electoral system to remove the mandatory condition of being an MP to become a minister.
"To become an MP, you have to spend a huge amount of money and after becoming an MP, one should become a minister to take back money spent during the election,” he said.
