Kathmandu, November 6: The Supreme Court has confirmed that Rajiv Gurung, known by his alias Deepak Manange, a member of the Gandaki Provincial Assembly and former provincial minister, has been involved in a murder attempt.

The Court confirmed Manange’s involvement in plotting the murder of gangster Milan Gurung aka Chakre Milan.

The Supreme Court bench of Justices Nahkul Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana gave a verdict for a year jail term to Rajiv Gurung.

Along with a jail term Gurung’s post as a member of the Gandaki Province Assembly can be suspended. As Gurung has already spent some time in jail, he has to face a jail term of two years.
