Kathmandu, November 4: Along with the celebration of the Bhaitika, the Tihar festival has concluded and preparation of the Chhat festival has started in the country.
The Chhat festival, observed by the Maithili society, has become popular among other communities also.
Nowadays, the Chhat festival is being observed in Kathmandu and other mountain districts also.
In Kathmandu, different river banks and ponds are decorated with colorful lights and flowers. The Chhat festival has already started but the main festival will be observed on Thursday by offering “Argha” to the setting sun and offering “Argha” to the rising sun.
The government has announced a public holiday on Thursday.
