With the fear of possible further damage to the headwork of the Melamchi Drinking Water from the possible floods in the river, the project had stalled the water supply in Kathmandu.
After the end of the monsoon season this year, the project resumed its water supply.
Immediately after completing the Project, a massive flood damaged the headwork. The Project then temporarily supplied water for Kathmandu.
