
Flooded house due to the flood caused by Sirisiya River in Ramghaduwa , Parsa District , Nepal
Kathmandu, September 28: In the Kathmandu Valley alone, 2,000 houses have been submerged in the floodwaters following incessant rains since Thursday night.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Vinod Ghimire, 2,324 houses were submerged in the valley on Saturday, including 1,324 in Kathmandu, 500 in Lalitpur and 417 in Bhaktapur.
SSP Ghimire also informed that 34 people have died in the Kathmandu Valley alone. According to him, 18 people have died in Lalitpur, 11 in Kathmandu and five in Bhaktapur so far.
17 people were killed and 17 others were injured in the incident.
He said that 1,315 people have been rescued from flood and inundation. Four houses have collapsed in Kathmandu and one house has been damaged in Bhaktapur.
