Kathmandu, September 19: The Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee on Cooperative Fraud has submitted a report recommending action against various persons involved in fraud.

Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, is found involved in spending the money brought by GB Rai from the cooperative to Gorkha Media.

As Lamichhane was the managing director of Gorkha Media, he signed bank cheques when the funds were received from the Cooperatives in Gorkha Media. Gorkha Media Company Chairman GB Rai, Managing Director Lamichhane and Director Chabilal Joshi operated joint accounts in two banks by filling out KYC forms and signing the cheques.

In the report prepared by the committee, it is recommended to investigate the involvement of NC vice president Dhanraj Gurung and his wife Jyoti Gurung in the embezzlement of about 140 million rupees of the Miteri Savings and Loan Cooperative Society in Lalitpur.
