Today birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, government announces holiday for Muslim community
Kathmandu, September 16: Today is the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, which is observed as an auspicious day by the Muslim community. On this occasion, the Nepal government announced a holiday for the Muslim community.
The Home Ministry, publishing a notice, has announced a holiday for the Muslim community in the country.
Id-e Milad, Milad–un–Nabi, Mawlid which falls on September 16 is a very special occasion for Muslims and commemorates the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad who is regarded as the last Prophet sent by Allah. This day usually falls in the third month of the Islamic calendar Rabi' al-awwal on the 12th day.
