Kathmandu, September 12: Rastriya Prajatantra Party chairman Rajendra Lingden called on King Gyanendra in Jhapa on Wednesday. RPP chair Lingden went to the Himalayan Tea Garden in Damak to meet the former King, who had arrived in Jhapa a few days ago, reports state.

Lingden attended various party programs in Biratnagar on Monday and Birtamode, Jhapa, on Tuesday and reached Damak to meet the former king on Wednesday.

The meeting between the chairman of the RPP and the former king, which has been constantly raising the agenda of the restoration of the monarchy in the context of the formation of the coalition government of the Congress and the UML, the issue of amending the constitution and the atmosphere of agitation in the country, is seen as meaningful.

Apart from the restoration of the monarchy, the RPP has been prominently raising issues such as the restoration of the Hindu nation, and the abolition of the state structure. Similarly, the party has also been holding a protest program with various 40-point demands. However, RPP leaders say that due to the two-line struggle within the party, some problems have started to arise.

It is said that the contemporary political situation and various issues were discussed in the meeting.
