Kathmandu, September 8: Senior journalist and chief editor of The Telegraph Weekly and The Telegraph Online Portal, publishing from Kathmandu, Nepal, Narendra Prasad Upadhyaya (NP Upadhyaya) passed away at 3.38 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, California local time, informed his son Niraj Aryal.

The late Upadhyaya was undergoing treatment at a local hospital in Los Angeles, USA. For the past ten days, he was under the life support equipment, said his son Niraj.

Of late, the late Upadhyaya, who spent more than half a decade in journalism was associated with the People’s Review Weekly as a columnist.

For the last several months, he had stopped writing for the Weekly following his illness suffering from a kidney problem and was undergoing treatment in the USA.

The late Upadhyaya was a patriotic journalist and known to be a hard-hitting writer for the cause of nationalism. Upadhyaya’s demise is a big loss for the nation who always struggled to strengthen national sovereignty, independence and national integrity.

The People’s Review family is shocked by Upadhyaya’s untimely demise and wishes for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Also, the Weekly prays to the Almighty for giving strength to the family members — spouse Sameera, son Niraj and daughter Nisha — including all the members of the bereaved family.

May the departed soul rest in peace!
