Kathmandu, September 6: The cabinet meeting held on Thursday appointed Gokarnamani Duwadi, secretary at the Statistics Office, the new home secretary.
After Eknarayan Aryal appointed the chief secretary, the post of home secretary remained vacant.
About a dozen secretaries were making efforts to become the home secretary. Meanwhile, the government has assigned Duwadi to the post of the home secretary, reports state.
