Stress is arguably a major problem in lots of countries around the world. In one way or the other, stress has created immense unpleasant issues in today’s people’s life. This article will discuss the most serious problems associated with this and suggest two potential solutions. According to WHO (World Health Organization), stress can be defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation. Stress is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives. Everyone experiences stress to some degree. The way we respond to stress, however, makes a big difference to our overall well-being. Stress affects both the mind and the body. A little bit of stress is good and can help us perform daily activities. Too much stress can cause physical and mental health problems. Learning how to cope with stress can help us feel less overwhelmed and support our mental and physical well-being. It is natural to feel stressed in challenging situations such as job interviews, school exams, unrealistic workloads, an insecure job, or, conflict with family, friends or colleagues. For many people stress reduces over time as the situation improves or as they learn to cope emotionally with the situation.
Stress has created many problems, two of which are work-life imbalance and a competitive society which compels them to show show-off. Due to more people living in nuclear families, they have more pressure on time management and maintaining calm thoughts at work and at home; which may lead to health hazards like depression, insomnia etc. Some of the parents may not be able to give the required time to their children. Similarly, because of eagerness to get more likes in social media’s self-shared posts, people often are compelled to wear expensive clothes and jewellery at family events, even by taking debt. Also, people spend more time on taking selfies to share posts and come into the limelight among friends and families.
Despite these pervasive effects, there are ways to reduce the cause of stress. One is for people to maintain a work-life balance by separating fixed times for work and family and live a balanced life by doing so. At home; for instance, there should be no work-related tasks and talks and family time should be fully given to family and their concerns. The other solution involves governments that should run awareness programs about the harm of getting more attached to using social media and showing show-off in family events are not required, the actual prestige in society can be get by doing noble deeds, not by showing.
In conclusion, although stress is now a major problem in modern society in many countries of the world; there are methods of reducing stress. In order to live stress free life, it is up to people to live a happy life by maintaining a work-life balance also government should raise awareness on how real prestige can be achieved by following ‘a simple living, high-thinking lifestyle.
