Demand for dismissing Communications Minister Gurung
Kathmandu, September 3: Nepali Congress leader Shankar Bhandari and the members of the former police organization forum have demanded the Prime Minister take action against the government spokesperson and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Prithvisubba Gurung.
Minister Gurung had remarked to 'pull down the tongue' of the Inspector General of Police at a public event held in Pokhara last Saturday. Gurung is criticized after his controversial speech against the Inspector General of Police.
Central Member of Nepali Congress and Member of House of Representatives Bhandari has issued a statement and demanded Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to dismiss Minister Gurung.
Bhandari also mentioned that if peace and security go down in the future, the government and the prime minister will be responsible for it. He has also requested not to spread hatred in society and not to spoil the relationship between parties.
In addition, the former police organization chief forum also issued a joint statement today and demanded the Prime Minister take action against Prithvisubba Gurung. In the statement issued by the forum, it is written, "We request the Honorable Prime Minister to take cognizance of the insensitive expression of the Honorable Minister and take necessary action regarding incidents of this nature involving the killing of former security personnel."
