Kathmandu, August 30: A Chinese company has received the contract for the construction of the Bheri Pumping Project to bring water from the Bheri River into the Surkhet Valley through lifting technology. The Chinese company has been selected among the 11 builders who participated in the contract made through a ‘Global Tender’. An agreement has been signed with the said company for the construction of the project at a cost of Rs.3.55 billion.

Drinking Water Sector Governance and Infrastructure Cooperation Project Birendranagar, Project Implementation Unit Surkhet, and Zhejiang Team International Economic and Technical Cooperation Ningbo China Company Limited signed an agreement on Wednesday for the construction of the project.
