Kathmandu, August 24: Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RPP) denied his involvement in the cooperatives fraud. Responding to questions by lawmakers of the parliamentary committee investigating fraud involving various cooperatives, Lamichhane declined his association with cooperatives fraud. He claimed that Gitendra Babu (GB) Rai was his professional partner at the Gorkha Media Network and he entertained 15 percent of the sweet shares from Rai in the media network. Lamichhane clarified that he was not a member of the cooperatives, nor did he apply or take loans from the said cooperatives--Suryadarshan, Supreme, Sahara or Swarnalaxmi.
