Kathmandu, August 23: The National Assembly has approved the Nepal Legal Practitioners Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 BS. In the meeting of the Assembly held on August 22, the proposal put forward by the Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia to consider the bill was unanimously approved.

In the theoretical discussion on the proposal, MPs Madankumari Shah (Garima), Kiran Babu Shrestha, Maya Prasad Sharma, Vishnu Kumari Sapkota, Krishna Prasad Adhikari, Tulsakumari Dahal and Sumitra VC said that the bill brought to bring the current law up to date needs serious study and review.

Answering the questions raised in the discussion, Law Minister Chaurasia clarified that the issue of building a Nepal Law Institute, which has been repeatedly raised by lawyers, is included in the bill. He asked all MPs to play a role in enriching the proposed bill.
