
Kathmandu, August 16: US Deputy Secretary of State Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma held high-level meetings today.
The US Embassy believes that the visit has been successful. The Assistant Secretary paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, and Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba.
The Embassy has informed that during the meetings the US Assistant Secretary expressed the commitment to the US support for a prosperous, sustainable and inclusive future of Nepal and Nepal-America partnership.
The Assistant Secretary also assured the American support for supporting the Nepal Army by providing a helicopter for disaster management.
During his stay, the Assistant Secretary also acquired information about MCC Nepal Compact, USAID support and other partner organizations.
The Assistant Secretary is leaving for New Delhi tomorrow morning.
