Kathmandu, August 11: Deputy General Secretary of the Maoist Centre, Janardan Sharma has challenged party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal to quit the party leadership.
Sharma submitted a 14-page political report with the conclusion that the party is heading towards zero, thus, asked party chair Dahal to quit the party leadership allowing a new generation to lead the party. Sharma, in the meeting of the Standing Committee, held at the party headquarters in Perisdanda, Kathmandu today, asked Dahal to quit the party leadership.
He suggested setting a date to transfer the leadership to the desired person, or, to transfer the executive leadership to the third-generation youth or to select a new leadership through direct election from the party’s national convention.
He suggests that after quitting the leadership, chair Dahal can lead the ideological authority and power while remaining the party patron.
