Kathmandu, August 8: CAAN chief Pradeep Adhikari claimed that the root cause of the accident of the Air Dynasty helicopter at Surya Chaur in Shivapuri Hill, Nuwakot on Wednesday could be a violation of the Visual Flight Rule made mandatory by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN).

CAAN Director General Adhikari, explaining the accident of the helicopter at the International Relations and Tourism Committee in the Federal Parliament today, said that according to the initial analysis of the accident, the helicopter entered into bad weather i.e. fog, which is restricted by CAAN for helicopters.

Adhikari however said that as the government has already formed a commission to investigate the accident, he cannot speak much about the case, nevertheless, viewing the accident site, it seems that the pilot in command entered into the bad weather and took a left turn to return, meanwhile, the helicopter hit the land and met an accident.
