By Rojina Kandel It’s obvious that a mother carries a greater role and attachment with a child in comparison to the father cause even before birth a child has a deeper connection with his/her mother as after conception a child resides inside the mother’s womb for 9 months; then only he/she gets born can come to this world. Moms are often celebrated for their natural nurturing instinct. From the moment a child is born, a mother’s ability to provide comfort, care and emotional support is unparalleled. This innate nurturing quality fosters a deep emotional connection between mother and child, creating a sense of security and love. It's clearly seen that, from the marketplace to the workplace, it is mothers who are still perceived as having that “special bond” with their children. Also, there’s a general query what’s the reason behind a mother being closer to a child than a father? Some scholars argue that the relationship between parents and children can begin before birth. They claim that such “antenatal bonding” – feeling connected to the unborn baby – is an important predictor of the infant-mother relationship. However, the actual evidence linking feelings about the baby during the pregnancy with postnatal behavior is inconsistent, so it’s not clear how or even if - such feelings influence later relationships. Oxytocin, commonly heralded as the bonding hormone, is known to be released in large amounts during birth and breastfeeding to help regulate maternal bonding in mammals. However, less well known is that fathers experience rises in oxytocin equal to others as a result of interacting with their infants. There are, however, differences between mothers and fathers in the types of interaction that seem to produce these rises in oxytocin. For mothers it is behaviors such as baby-talk, staring into the baby’s eyes and affectionate touch. For fathers, playful touch and behavior – such as moving their baby around or presenting objects – seem to produce the rise in oxytocin levels. Moms often exhibit a high level of emotional intelligence, an essential quality in understanding and responding to their children’s feelings. Moms are adept at deciphering subtle emotional cues, offering empathy, and creating a safe space for their children to express themselves emotionally. This emotional attunement helps build strong bonds and fosters healthy emotional development in children. A mother’s intuition is a powerful force. Moms often have an uncanny ability to sense when something is amiss with their children, even before the child can articulate their concerns. This intuitive understanding allows moms to address issues promptly, providing the necessary support and care. Mothers are the most selfless people on the planet, beginning to love their children, even before they are born, nothing in this world compares to a mother’s love, since it is the purest kind of love. Mothers are guardian angels for their children, always loving and supporting them. Because she is the first person a child sees after birth, every youngster holds a particular place in their heart for their mother. This is why in comparison to a child and their father’s connection; a child and their mother will have such a closer and stronger attachment with each other.
