It seems the present coalition government of the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) is formed to cover up scandals and protect tainted powerful leaders. The activities of the government prove this.
The government began this by transferring the chief of the Crime Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police fearing that he could arrest Arzu Rana in the fake Bhutanese Refugee case. Later, the government instructed the Nepal Electricity Authority to connect power to the industries which had not paid the power tariff amounting to billions of rupees.
Although the NEA was working to recover the money from the industrialists, the PM gave a direct instruction to the NEA to connect the power to the industries. Not only that the members of the board of directors who opposed the instructions were sacked and replaced by new members.
Now it has been clear that the new government will not reopen files in the cases related to fake Bhutanese refugee cases, neither will it make any progress in the scams related to lands of Bansbari, Tikapur and Giribandhu Tea Estate, because those linked with these scams are now in power—Oli is leading the government, Rana is foreign ministers and Binod Chaudhary is kingmaker—he is believed to be key figure in bringing NC and UML together.
