Kathmandu, August 4: The residents of the Kathmandu Valley are observing the Bhoto (vest) Jatra today. The Bhoto belonging to Rato Machhindranath is being displayed today at Jwalakhel Square in Lalitpur. Rato Machhindranath is regarded as the God of rain and prosperity. The government has announced a public holiday in the Kathmandu Valley on the occasion of the festival. President Ramchandra Paudel, among other high-level dignitaries, is attending the Bhoto displaying event in Jawlakhel.
