Kathmandu, August 2: The UML secretariat meeting held on August 1 nominated Guru Baral as the vice chairman of the party.

Accordingly, the meeting nominated 17 new central committee members.

Baral has become the new vice chairman of the party. The post remained vacant after the death of Subhas Nembang.

The new central committee members include Subas Karmacharya (Sindhupalchok), Kundan Kushwaha (Rautahat), Jitendra Dev (Sunsari), Rampreet Ram (Siraha), Krishna Bhakta Pokharel (Chitwan), Kamal Krishna Timilsina (Achham), Govinda Pun (Salyan), and Kedar Sigdel (Tanahun).

Manmohan Paudel (Parbat), Bhardev Joshi (Darchula), Hari Upreti (Sarlahi), Indra Bhandari (Jhapa), Mahesh Bartaula (Makwanpur), Sarita Bhusal (Farmers Federation), Prabha Baral (Kaski), Manju Sharma Chalise (Baglung) and Asha Jawegu (Panchthar) are also among those appointed as the CC members.

The party has assigned responsibility to its leaders to strengthen the party organization.
