Kathmandu, August 2: The Education, Health and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has directed to approve the operation of nursing colleges that meet the criteria. A meeting of the committee held Thursday in the presence of the Education Minister decided to make necessary amendments to the ‘Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training Act, 2054’ and the ‘National Medical Education Act, 2075’.

Likewise, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Bidya Bhattarai, stressed the need for reforming the structure of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).  She said that many students have received complaints against CTEVT performance and it is necessary to correct it.

Committee chair Amber Bahadur Thapa said the decision was taken as the student’s right to study was curtailed due to obstruction of nursing educational institutions that meet the criteria.
