
Kathmandu, July 29: The meeting of the mechanism on transitional justice ended today without a concrete decision. The meeting of the mechanism held this morning at the Ministry of Home Affairs at Singhdarbar has been concluded and will be held on coming Thursday. In today’s discussion, on behalf of the Nepali Congress, the members of the mechanism, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Bartaula and Maoist Center Deputy Secretary General Janardan Sharma participated.
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ajay Kumar Chaurasia, Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee Chairman Bimala Subedi, Attorney General Ramesh Badal and others were present in the meeting. UML Chief Whip Bertaula informed that today’s meeting is over and the meeting will be held on coming Thursday.
He said, “The basic act, the bill and the report of the sub-committee have been reviewed. It has been a matter of integrating it and also integrating the questions raised. After making all the preparations, we will hold a meeting at the Ministry for Home Affairs next Thursday at 8 O’clock.” He said that after preparing a draft of the discussion so far, the discussion will be focused on it in the coming days.
