
Kathmandu, July 27: The Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD) under the Department of Health Services has reported that cholera infection has been confirmed in 10 people across the country.
Cholera was confirmed in seven people in Lalitpur and three in Kailali, Director of the Division Dr. Yaduchandra Ghimire informed. He said that personal hygiene and the managerial role of related agencies are important to avoid cholera.
He said, “Cholera is connected with water supply, in addition to sanitation. In Lalitpur, the bacteria was found in the well water. It could have been mixed with sewage. It also depends on the condition of the toilet and how the waste is managed. It is important to pay attention to all these to prevent the spread of cholera.”
