Kathmandu, July 18: Senior tourism entrepreneur Ambika Shrestha died this morning while undergoing treatment at the Mediciti Hospital in Lalitpur.

Shrestha was the owner of the Dwarika’s Hotel and was actively involved in the tourism and media sector and also working for the preservation of Nepali cultural heritages.

Shrestha was involved in the hotel business for the last 65 years and since 1991, she took sole management responsibility of the Dwarika’s Hotel. She is survived by two daughters. Her husband Dwarika Shrestha and son died earlier.

Binayak Shah, chair of the Nepal Hotel Association, in a statement, has remarked that the late Shrestha’s demise is a big and irreparable loss for the nation and also for the hotel and tourism sectors.
