
Kathmandu, July 17: Nepali students in Bangladesh have been requested by the Nepal Embassy in Dhaka to stay safe. The Nepali Embassy in Dhaka has issued a statement on Wednesday, July 17, requesting all Nepalis studying in Bangladesh to stay safe.
Due to the ongoing anti-quota protests in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Ministry of Education has closed all government and private universities and educational institutions for the time being. As mentioned in the statement, the educational institutions will remain closed until further notice.
The Nepal Embassy has advised the Nepali students not to leave their hostels or places of residence except for essential work. Students have also been requested to follow the instructions of their respective college administrations. However, if the college administration instructs them to go to another safe place from the hostel, they have been asked to inform the Nepal Embassy.
Six students have already been killed in Bangladesh in the student agitation launched against the quota system.
