BABBLES

Two buses with around 65 passengers were swept into the Trishuli River in Simaltal of the Bharatpur Metropolis Corporation on Friday early morning, 12 July. The buses were swept away by the landslide.
Two passengers saved their lives by jumping from the bus, and now, 11 dead bodies have been identified, however, despite an immediate search operation conducted by the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police, the whereabouts of the buses were unknown until Monday.
This is a huge loss of lives, however, the government is taking the accident in a normal manner. The same day, prime minister Pushpakamal Dahal was facing a vote of confidence in Parliament. Leaders from different political parties advocated in favor and opposition to the government. But none of the leaders expressed sorrow over the loss of such a large number of people in the accident. The situation was seen as very odd in Parliament.
When a Yeti Airlines aircraft crashed in Pokhara, the nation mourned for two days. Newspapers and other electronic media gave special coverage of the accident. However, this time, when two buses were missing with around 65 passengers, the same society exhibited inhuman behavior as if a road accident is not an accident but an air accident is only an accident. This could be an example of inhumanity.
Be that as it may, the government must be serious about reducing the road accident rate and also become serious about frequent landslides on highways.
An exhibition of feudalism
Today, the entire India, the largest democracy and also would be the largest population, is talking about the marriage ceremony of the world’s one among the richest Indian families, Mukesh Ambani’s younger son’s marriage. India is a country where 80% of the population is suffering from poverty, whereas, 20% of the population enjoys above the American standard of lifestyle. The marriage expenditure of the Ambani family may not be less than billions of Indian rupees – a most expensive marriage. This is an odd exhibition of property and wealth and unnecessary expenditure in a feudal society.
Should Nepal be an India-protected nation?
Swarnim Wagle is a person working in foreigners’ interests. Wagle sometimes talks about free market economy saying that the government job is not to run an industry. In the USA, and also even in many European countries, many government undertakings are being operated. But in Nepal, it is objectionable for Wagle like “academician”.
Wagle is of the view of dismantling the Nepal Army. He believes, that to reduce the unnecessary expenditure of the nation, this “white elephant” should be removed. He doesn’t say that federalism has become a “white elephant” for Nepal.
Now, the same Wagle is saying that Nepal belongs to the Indian sphere of influence. If so, doesn’t China, another immediate neighbor, have a sphere of influence in Nepal? To avoid such influence of the immediate neighbors, Nepal maintained a non-aligned foreign policy and standard policy of equidistance relations. Moreover, Nepal thus proposed a “Zone of Peace” viewing Nepal’s long-term sphere of influence.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
Regarding geopolitics, Dr. Swarnim Wagle said, “Nepal falls within India’s Monroe Doctrine, Nepal should accept it easily.”Around in 1820, American President Monroe said that the neighboring countries Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean should be under American influence. Do Wagle’s remarks represent the standard policy of the Rastriya Swatantra Party or they are just his personal views?

In the context of the South Asian Monroe Doctrine suddenly becoming a topic of discussion in Kathmandu, the article by Indian journalist/writer Suvir Bhowmik, published about a decade ago, may be relevant again: “India needs no Monroe Doctrine”.
Sharad Raj Pathak
The game of making Nepal a protected state of India and a protected state of America has finally made Nepal a fragile state. China has also given this status to Nepal a few years ago.
Roshan Sibakoti
The leaders of the Nepali Congress, UML, Maoists, and Rastriya Swatantra Party are all working to avoid being caught in scams they are involved.

Not swearing in the name of God is against the spirit of our Vedic tradition, religion and culture. This has happened with President RC Paudel and the newly appointed Prime Minister Oli, who played an important role in declaring Nepal a secular nation under the Western Christian mission against the wishes of the Nepali citizens.
Lokesh Dhakal
After the President assigned the outgoing PM Dahal as the caretaker PM until the appointment of the new PM, should not the PM, and Home Minister go to the bus accident site instead of going to the Khumaltar residence? Leaving the countrymen in a state of neglect should also be considered a continuation of the offensive move! How safe are we?
Dhruba H. Adhikary
The king belongs to this country. It is shared by all. No one is close to him, no one is a stranger. Everything is his own.
Seeing the plight of the country, no one can remain silent, after seeing that the very existence is in danger, now not with any party, society, but all should cooperate with the king and save the glorious history of the country.
It is not the time to take revenge on Nepali by Nepali, but in this time of crisis, let us help each other, love and keep harmony.
Let’s make the country prosperous and Nepali people happy.
