Kathmandu, April 12: Thursday’s sudden rains and winds have given relief to some extent as the air pollution level in Kathmandu has declined.  For some days, the air pollution level had inclined to an alarming level due to the polluted air coming from India and also the wildfire spreading in Nepal’s forests.  Presently, according to the real-time AUI (air quality index) in Singapore, Kathmandu has declined to the fourth most polluted city in the globe.  This morning’s AQI of the Kathmandu Valley is recorded at 166. Delhi, the capital of India, is the No. 1 polluted city, and Beijing, the capital city of China, is the second most polluted city with 214 and 197 AQI respectively. Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, is in the third position with 179 AQI.  AQI from 151 to 200 are considered hazardous to health. An AQI level above 200 is considered to be the most hazardous to human health.   People’s News Monitoring Service.
