No parliamentary probe commission on DPM Lamichhane: PM Dahal
Kathmandu, April 11: At a time when the main opposition party Nepali Congress is continuously obstructing the House demanding a parliamentary probe commission to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s alleged involvement in the cooperative fraud, Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal said that a parliamentary commission will not be formed.
Accusing the Nepali Congress of making it a political issue, PM Dahal said that it should be resolved through political understanding. "If Rabi Lamichhane's case is discussed separately and the problems of cooperatives are discussed separately, a solution can be found, and that is what we are trying to do," PM Dahal said.
If any evidence is found against Rabi, an investigation will be conducted, he said. "I am speaking following suggestions from the investigation officials,” PM Dahal said.
Dahal said that when CIB, the investigating agency, said there was no evidence against Rabi, there was no need to constitute a probe commission.
