Kathmandu, April 8: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is preparing to organize a massive demonstration on Tuesday, April 9, in Kathmandu.  Earlier, the party had submitted a 40-point memorandum to Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal along with a warning that it would launch street agitation if the government did not respond to RPP demands.  RPP, in its 40-point memorandum, has demanded the scrapping of the present system with secularism, federalism, and republicanism by replacing it with a Hindu kingdom. Different religious and pro-monarchy organizations, including RPP-Nepal, led by Kamal Thapa, have also supported the RPP’s agitation. Meanwhile, RPP chairman Rajendra Lingden said that the RPP’s agitation will be peaceful but if the government tries to suppress it, the RPP demonstration can be violent and also cross the government’s security circle.  RPP has raised issues related to good governance, and the end of rampant corruption, including many issues related to social welfare and the nation's prosperity, in its 40-point memorandum.   People’s News Monitoring Service.
