Kathmandu, April 8: Today, the Kathmanduites celebrate the Ghodejatra (Horse Festival). The Nepal Army is going to exhibit horseback riding events at the Army Pavilion, in Tudikhel.  This festival is being observed on the no-moon day, also known as Pishach Chaturdashi, and carries Tantrik values.  This is a big festival of the Newar community in the Kathmandu Valley. The community offers a special pooja of the Pishachewar Mahadev located at the corner of Tundikhel. The story of Ghodejatra is also related to the trouble given by a giant, and the Newar community, with the help of the Tantrik, brought it under control and put it under the horse's legs. A government holiday is declared only for the Kathmandu Valley today.   People’s News Monitoring Service.
