New coalition government spends one month without any concrete work
Kathmandu, April 4: The new coalition government formed by Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal by changing the coalition partners has completed one month.
In this one month, PM Dahal, except for exhibiting a vote of confidence for the government, a change in his cabinet, and a change in the provincial governments, has not done any concrete work.
The PM is busy managing the alliance partners.
The Parliament is being disturbed by the NC lawmakers blaming the DPM and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane’s involvement in manipulating a cooperative’s fund.
The Ekikrit Samajwadi Party, a partner in the alliance government, is doubtfully watching the activities of the new government. The party took a stance while casting a vote of confidence to the chief minister of the Bagmati Provincial government.
PM Dahal tried to bring the Nagarik Unmukti Party into the government, which caused a dispute between the founding patron, Resham Chaudhary and his spouse, currently, the chair of the party.
Meanwhile, NC leader Sekhar Koirala is saying that there is no alternative except for an alliance government between the NC and UML for political stability and development in the country.
Koirala has opined that the present coalition government cannot ensure political stability.
Moreover, NC leader Koirala and general secretary Gagan Thapa have held secret meetings with UML chair K.P. Sharma Oli.
Oli, on the other hand, has been saying to his closed party leaders that he is frequently getting messages for becoming the prime minister in alliance with the Nepali Congress.
Indicating towards Delhi, Oli is learnt to have said, “Earlier, they were not in contact, however, these days, are frequently sending messages with the offer of the prime minister’s post.”
The latest developments indicate a bleak picture of the political instability in the country. Be that as it may, foreign players are active in Nepali politics.
