NC won’t be flexible on TRC bill: Sekhar Koirala
Kathmandu, March 30: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has blamed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal for playing a geopolitical game to break the then alliance with the Nepali Congress.
He also said that they were trying to pass the Transitional Justice (TRC) Bill in partnership with the UML. Koirala claimed that although PM Dahal has given the reasons for the Koshi election and the use of the word 'people's war' in the NC Mahasamiti meeting, breaking the alliance with the NC is a geopolitical game.
Koirala, who addressed the 16th annual general meeting of BP Memorial Community Cooperative Hospital in Kathmandu on Saturday, said Dahal had split the then alliance with the NC to support the UML to pass the 'Commission for Investigation of Disappeared Persons, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2079'.
Apart from that, there are geopolitical reasons as well, he said, adding that Congress would no longer be flexible on the TRC bill. Koirala made it clear that NC will not be flexible on the TRC bill.
Koirala claimed that the party had to face a loss while developing an election alliance with the Maoist Center. He made it clear that NC would not forge any election alliance in the upcoming elections.
