Finance Minister holds virtual meeting with Nepali ambassadors, heads of missions in foreign countries
Kathmandu, March 30: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun has held a virtual meeting with more than 40 Nepali ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions abroad. Minister Pun held discussions with the ambassadors as part of preparations for the investment summit scheduled to be held on April 16 and 17.
Minister Pun had gone to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs late on Friday evening for the Zoom meeting. Chief Secretary Baikuntha Aryal, Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Investment Board Sushil Bhatta were present in the meeting.
On behalf of the Prime Minister, Minister Pun directed the ambassadors and heads of missions to work for the next one month focusing on the investment summit. "The investment summit is related to the prestige, prestige and pride of the nation," Pun said, adding, "On behalf of the honourable Prime Minister, I urge you to leave all the work for the next one month and work for it."
Minister Pun recalled that invitations had already been sent to foreign development partners, big investors, potential investors, programme speakers and high-ranking government personalities.
He said the government has initiated policy, procedural and legal reforms to create an investment-friendly environment. Minister Pun also urged them to inform the investors and government agencies of the country where they are staying about the reform process being initiated through amendments in more than a dozen laws.
