Kathmandu, March 26: Visiting Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, has started meetings with senior Chinese leaders. On Monday, March 25, Shrestha held talks with Wang Huning, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and discussed the implementation modality of the agreements inked during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Nepal visit and also Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal’s China visit in the past.  Wang is considered to be an important member of the CPC’s Politburo Standing Committee, China’s top decision-making body since 2017 and its fourth-ranking member since 2022. He is also considered close to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Today, March 26, is scheduled for a bilateral meeting between Shrestha and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi.  Shrestha is paying a nine-day official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Yi.
