Kathmandu, March 19: UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli defended Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane saying that a parliamentary commission will not be formed to probe the cooperative fraud. At a time when the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, is demanding the resignation of Laamichhane in the cooperative fraud case, UML President Oli has said that Lamichhane should not resign from the post.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Chautari, Kailali, in Dhangadhi, he said, 'Was he going to drown the cooperative? Was he the operator who collected the money? If there is nothing, how will the investigation be affected? Since Ravi Lamichhane and his party did not like the Nepali Congress, it was a trap to defame Lamichhane.
It has also been heard that NC ministers have given statements to the Commission for Investigation on Abuse of Authority (CIAA) while covering the flag on their vehicles. Morality has no meaning in the NC, said Oli. When the NC is on the side of the government, it does one thing; when it is in opposition, does another thing" said Oli.
Oli added, “The complaint can be registered in anyone’s name as well. If the trend of tendering resignations continues based on complaints, there will be no minister in any ministry, the parliament will be empty, and everything will be empty. Oli said.
