Kathmandu, March 19: The Nepal Students Union (NSU), the student organization affiliated with the Nepali Congress, organized a demonstration in front of the Singhadurwar today demanding the termination of Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, who is alleged to have been involved in manipulating a cooperative’s fund, and Finance Minister Barshaman Pun on the allegation of being involved in the smuggling of gold. During the demonstration, students displayed posters on the wall outside the Singha Darbar against the two ministers. Later, the police intervened and arrested some students. Students lauded slogans such as the resignation of the Home Minister, justice for the cooperative victims, etc. The Nepali Congress has been protesting in the House and the fraternal organizations on the streets against Lamichhane, who is alleged to be involved in the misappropriation of the funds of the cooperative.
