Kathmandu, March 18: The Central Investigation Bureau under the Nepal Police has arrested Maoist Center’s senior leader, Krishna Bahadur Mahara, from the Highway in Rupandehi and brought him to Kathmandu from Bhairahawa. Mahara was arrested by the Rupandehi Police when he was going to Dang by road from Bhairahawa. Mahara was brought to Kathmandu by the Yeti Airlines flight and taken to the CIB office in Lajimpat.  CIB is preparing to get the District Court’s permission to keep Mahara under police custody for the investigation of the gold smuggling scandal.
