CIB arrested businessman Chaudhary and other two following an investigation
Kathmandu, February 2: On the second day of the arrest of Chaudhary Group’s Arun Chaudhary and two others, the Central Investigation Bureau of the Nepal Police has claimed that the arrest of three persons was related to capturing government land through a forgery deal.
At the press conference held today, CIB spokesman Navaraj Adhikari said that the three people involved in the illegal transaction of land belonging to the Bansbari Leather Shoes Factory have been arrested.
The Buro has strong evidence about the forgery deal in capturing the government land, said Adhikari.
The Bureau said that the Chaudhary Group captured the land by creating the Champion Footwear Company.
There was a seven-member board of directors at Champion Footwear. Binod Chaudhary, Lunkarandas Chaudhary, and Arun Chaudhary, among others, were included on the board.
Binod Choudhary had played a major role in transferring government property in the name of the footwear company.
The CIB has not disclosed the names of the board members.
The then-executive chairman of the Bansbari Leather Shoes Factory, Ajit Narayan Singh Thapa, has also been arrested by the CIB.
