If the law was functional, big officials, leaders would have been found in jail: Chandra Bhandari
Kathmandu, January 25: Nepali Congress lawmaker Chandra Bhandari while receiving the Nil Prasad Bhandari Memorial Award in Kathmandu on Tuesday, said that all top leaders and government officials would have been in jail if the country’s law were enforced. The leaders are unable to run the country now, he said.
Bhandari said it would not take time to build the country if those who make big speeches tried to reform their parties. He said that the country has become poor due to the tendency of the people sitting in the constitutional bodies and many leaders who do politics to construct huge buildings around the huts of poor people.
"Those who give big speeches should first reform their party. Our leaders failed to use their wisdom for the development of the nation. Our experts, people sitting in our constitutional bodies, and many politicians have made the country poor due to the tendency to construct their own houses big, keeping poor people around them. If political parties make changes in their attitude, there is no obstacle in building the nation. If the law will work, there is no problem in building the nation”, the MP said.
